So they dug and dug ever deeper, right across the road. Then at some point they realised that they were looking in completely the wrong place; the water pipe was in fact located in the middle of the grass verge adjoining our wall. You can just see the grid, on the far left of the photo. They didn’t need to spend a day and a half digging up the road, they probably didn’t really need traffic lights to hold up the main road connecting north and south Wales for two days.
